AeroGuard. Protection takes on a new form.

FROM AN INSIGHT THAT CHANGED MOTOGP TO A DESIGN SHAPED BY THE AIR.

Some innovations are born to solve a problem. Over time, they end up changing the rules.

In 2006, a serious incident between Sete Gibernau and Loris Capirossi during the Catalunya Grand Prix highlighted a risk that had until then been underestimated: the accidental activation of the front brake lever following contact between two motorcycles. That incident gave rise to a Rizoma insight: ProGuard, a system designed to protect the brake lever and contribute to rider safety.
A solution that found its place in competition and anticipated an important change. In 2012, brake lever protection systems became mandatory in MotoGP.

Twenty years later, that same idea continues to evolve.
AeroGuard is born.

Shaped by the air.

With AeroGuard, Rizoma reinterprets the concept of protection through a new aerodynamic vision.

The tip’s geometry guides airflow upwards, away from the lever and the rider’s hand, while a side vent directs it outwards. Internal cavities with a polished finish and dedicated fins help reduce turbulence.

Air is no longer just something to work against. It becomes part of the design process, shaping the product’s surfaces, proportions and identity.

Protection without compromise.

Safety remains the starting point.

AeroGuard retains ProGuard’s essential function, incorporating a technopolymer tip with a predetermined breaking point, designed to give way in a controlled manner in the event of a severe impact.

Precision also comes through in the adjustment. An internal spherical system allows the angle to be adjusted in relation to the handlebar, while the tip’s 5 mm increments make it possible to optimise the distance from the brake lever.

CNC-machined billet aluminium, die-cast aluminium and injection-moulded technopolymer come together in a construction where every material serves a precise purpose.

The result is a technical component that does more than protect: it becomes part of the motorcycle’s visual language.

ProGuard helped redefine safety standards on the track.
AeroGuard builds on its legacy, taking that same insight towards new design possibilities.
Because innovation isn’t just about creating something new. It’s about continuing to evolve what has already rewritten the rules.
